Electric Showers
If hot water on demand is at the top of your list, an electric shower is the right choice for you. All you need for an electric shower is a source of electricity (obviously) and a pipe that can feed cold water into the shower unit. This cold water is then heated by an element inside the unit, delivering a hot shower whenever you desire, morning or night. Apart from the relaxing shower it offers, another huge benefit is that you'll always be able to have a hot shower even if there is no hot water available. You no longer need to rely on the boiler providing enough hot water for the entire family to share, it'll be there whenever you need it. Finally, it's likely that the electric shower you choose will feature thermostatic technology. This works to keep your set temperature stable, so they'll never be any nasty surprises.
With a huge range of styles available, an electric shower is always an excellent choice.

What is an Electric Shower?
Whilst a standard shower uses the hot water directly from your tank, electric showers heat cold water using electricity. This means that you will never run out of hot water, even if you have a whole family who wants to shower one after another.
They work in a similar way to hair dryers and toasters (although the end results are very different) by sending an electric current through a heating element. The cold water then passes over this element where it is heated up and then sent to the shower head. Lovely and warm for you.
The mixture of electricity and water may seem like a recipe for disaster, but as the heating element is in a sealed unit, there is no chance.
The Benefits of an Electric Shower
As we have already pointed out, electric showers are great for busy households where plenty of people are going to want to shower. They cut out the need to wait around for water to heat up so that you can take a shower.
Another benefit is that they are energy efficient. Because they only heat the water that you need, they use less energy, and we all know that is a good thing. Not only for the environment, but also for your pocket when it comes to paying that energy bill.
One of the problems that you can face with showers is low water pressure. If you have an electric shower, then all the water is taken from the main cold water supply, which is completely independent from your hot water system. This means that you can still have a shower when your water pressure is low.
Installing an Electric Shower
Whilst installing an electric shower is something that you can do yourself, much like any form of electrical work, the best way to make sure that it is done safely and to a high quality is to instruct a plumber to do the work for you.
They will not only have the right tools, but they also have the skills and expertise to enable them to properly install it into your bathroom, and minimise the risk of any problems occurring.
An electric shower is a great idea for a busy family bathroom. Not only does it give you a great flow of water, but it also makes sure that you never run out when you need it the most; no matter how many people use it.
